Creative Flow State

A lot of the art I create these days, is from a place of flow state. I do not start out with a clear plan in mind and I just let what comes, come. These pieces are the result of that relaxed creative process and give me the most joy to create.

Where it all began

Although I have been creating art seriously since 2005, it was in 2014 when I started creating art for exhibitions and to be displayed on cards, cushions, bags and all manner of other bits and pieces. This gallery is a rather eclectic collection of the art I created form 2014 to around 2019 that many might have seen if you bumped into me at an event.

Geometry

I am very lucky to be studying a range of geometric forms with Stephanie June Ellis of The Art of Process. Here is a collection of my drawings from her teachings. Alongside Steph's teachings you will find also drawings from classes by Clarissa Grandi.

Celtic Knotwork

I have always been fascinated by Cletic Knotwork and have in the last few years been learning how to do it.

Ocean Swirl Series

After drawing realistically for many years, I lost my way for a while. I went off and experimented in other mediums and when I came back to colour pencils, a new style had formed. These pieces are pure colour pencil and are made almost entirely from spirals. I hope to keep building on this series as and when the muse visits.

NeuroGraphic Art

NeuroGraphic Art is its very own art form and pyschological tool. I encourage you to look it up if it interests you. These pieces are inspired by some of the concepts of NeuroGraphic Art.

Stained Glass Inspired

I have always been fascinated by coloured glass and how the light interacts with it. This series takes its inspiration from stained glass windows, playing with the leading and essence of light, but in colour pencil.
