Last Saturday I was back at St Peter's Church in Sudbury for Simply Event's Summer Craft Fair. I was particularly looking forward to this fair as I have just launched some brand new products: canvas bags and keyrings.
There are 10 designs of canvas bags in total, all made from my original artwork (the 10th design came fresh off the press today so this will be on the website shortly). Made from 10oz 100% natural cotton canvas and double stitched seams for strength, this is the perfect shopping bag. The bags measure approximately 38cm wide by 42cm high, with a 10cm gusset and 33cm long handles. What with the new introduction of charges for plastic bags in the major supermarkets in the UK hitting stores in October, these bags are a stylish solution!
I also launched 17 new keyrings, made from clear acrylic showcasing some examples of my artwork. Measuring 7.5cm high, including the split ring, this is a super cute size to pop on to your keys.
I also managed to get a little bit of demonstrating done. I am currently working on my 2015 Christmas Card designs and this super cute polar bear cub is one of them. I chose to draw him on black paper so that I could make the white of his fur come to life. I find it challenging to make a predominantly white subject really leap off the page on white paper, so using a coloured paper is a good solution for this.
I did manage to finish him over the weekend, titled Peek-a-Polar Bear. He will be on sale at Art on the Prom in Felixstowe this coming Sunday (6th September). I am very busy getting ready for this now and am really looking forward to it. I hope to see you there!
